Dr Marjolein Admiraal

Marjolein Admiraal completed her BA and MA in Archaeology at the University of Groningen in the Netherlands with a focus on North American prehistory and Arctic studies. Her PhD research (2015-2019) concerned early Alaskan pottery traditions and ceramic and stone vessel function. She was trained in organic residue analysis at BioArCh in 2016. Starting October 2020 she is based at BioArCh as a postdoctoral research fellow on the ERC TRADITION project (2020-2023), studying the function of pottery from the Brazilian Atlantic forest coast, by applying lipid and stable isotope analysis, as well a proteomics.
