Prof. Henny Piezonka

Henny Piezonka, Dr. phil. (Berlin 2010), is a junior professor for Anthropological Archaeology at Kiel university, Germany. In 2015-2016 she directed the project “8000 years of cultural development in the northeast European forest zone: the key site of Vëksa, Russia” at the German Archaeological Institute, Berlin. Before that she worked at Greifswald and Bonn universities in various projects on Eurasian prehistory. Her research interests include Eurasian hunter-gatherer ceramics since the Late Glacial, the Neolithic and Early Metal Age in central and eastern Europe, the archaeology and ethnoarchaeology of Siberia and Mongolia, and palaeodiet reconstructions, radiocarbon dating and reservoir effects.
